Go girl! It’s your birthday

Sayyyyy ahhhhh ahhhh ahhhhlignment

Written on my birthday in 2024

Just to clarify: my birthday is NOT today.

However, it is my Mom’s birthday. So, if you feel inclined, then please wish her the happiest of birthdays.

Happy birthday, Mom. I love you always & forever, no matter what. Thank you for giving me this gift of life and being my biggest cheerleader at every stage of the journey. Sending you a big ole Morning Hug.

I’ve had multiple people ask me today, “So what are you doing for your birthday?”

My reply, “No plans. Just going with the flow.”

After the pity washes away and they see that I’m genuinely happy to have a clean slate for a schedule, most will then reply with, “It is your birthday after all. You deserve to do whatever you want today.”

I appreciate the sentiment, but wait-wait-wait!

Why just on my birthday?

Why is the birthday the only day we can “do what we want”?

Is the birthday the only day that we deserve alignment?

What are these people suggesting is the alternative?

Every other day we’re just living our lives to service what other people want?

Living out our lives from a place of obligation, rather than inspiration?

Nahhhh I’m good. Like Trey Songz, I’ll "Sayyyyy ahhhhh ahhhh ahhhhlignment" instead.
